The Sacred Fire
The Sacred Fire is the collection of documents that orient this ecosystem. At its heart is the question:
How can technology be in highest service to earnest, embodied, experiential spiritual development?
This is a living inquiry, not a question with a final answer. It is the North Star of the work and orients every decision, relationship, and initiative the field takes on.
The emergence of Spirit Tech is inevitable. The question is how it emerges. There are two paths. It can emerge with the same growth-at-all-costs logic that has defined the last 50 years in tech. Or it can emerge with principles and structures that honor the sacred while building for scale and commercial success. This is the moment to chart a new course.
The Sacred Fire holds what it takes to do that:
- Operating principles for how we move together
- Shared values that anchor us
- Standards of spiritual integrity for what it means to build in this work
- A manifesto that magnetizes the right people into this ecosystem
This document orients everything that happens here, including how we show up in this hub. To engage here is to engage with reverence. Every person we interact with deserves our respect. We are interconnected.
The Sacred Fire is being developed over the next few months by the core fire tenders of the Spirit Tech Collective, on behalf of the wider ecosystem.
