What we collect, why, and the choices you have. Effective October 2, 2026.
Spirit Tech Collective (“we”) runs spirit.tech and the weekly digest. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, join, or read our emails, what we do with it, and how to change it. Questions or requests go to hello@spirit.tech.
Your account. Your email address, and your name if you give it. You sign in with one-time links or codes we email you; there are no passwords.
What you tell us. Your answers when you join and in Settings: who you represent (for example builder, investor or practitioner), what support you are looking for and any note you add, themes you care about, whether you have read the Sacred Fire, and how you would like to contribute, including any amount you suggest. If you create a builder profile, your handle, location, bio, what you are exploring, your links, and whether to list you in the directory. Whether other members may see your email address.
What you do and post. Votes, follows, comments, product feedback, products, ideas, and the organizations and news you submit, and when you raise your hand in the Builder Hub, the Sacred Fire or on an idea. Some of this is shown to other people, as the page you post it on makes clear.
Email. Whether you subscribe to the digest, which digests and notifications we sent you, and which digest links you click (see below).
How you use the site, counted by us. When you are signed in, we count:
This counting never stores the addresses of the pages you read or the links you follow, your searches, your IP address or details of your browser. Staff accounts are not counted.
Google Analytics. For every visitor, signed in or not, Google Analytics uses cookies to record visits, pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser type, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address), and some actions such as form steps, scrolling and links you follow. Before anything is sent we remove sign-in tokens and email addresses from page addresses, and pages that handle sign-in or unsubscribing send nothing. Google processes this under the Google Privacy Policy.
Error reports. When something breaks, our error-reporting service receives technical details (the page without its query string, your browser type, and what went wrong), not your name or email address.
Messages. Anything you send us by email or through a feedback form, with your name and email address so we can reply.
_ga) count visits as described above. We do not use advertising cookies.
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. We share it only with:
We use AI services to research organizations and draft the digest from public information. Your account details and how you use the site are not part of that.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, to object to how we use it, or to complain to a data protection authority. Email us to use any of them; we will not treat you differently for doing so.

When we change this policy we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects what we collect from members or how we use it, we will tell members by email or on the site before it takes effect.
