About

Elsewhere is a dream journal and interpretation app available in 40 languages on Android, iOS, and web. Record your dreams, then explore their meaning through interpretive frameworks designed by dream researchers, artists, and computer scientists. Your dream data stays yours. Export it anytime to take it with you.

Why I'm building this

Elsewhere is made by an indie team all over the world. Developers Gez Quinn (UK), Dan Kennedy (Australia) and Kat Juncker (US) met on the interwebs and launched a little dream website in 2021, which got a more polished life as Elsewhere in 2023. Elsewhere is advised by the dream researcher Kelly Bulkeley. It’s designed by Lili Köves (Hungary) and illustrated by Yoh Yasuda (Japan), with Victoria Philibert (Canada, research & marketing) rounding off the Anglosphere. We meet in-person when we can. All of us have day jobs and do this for the love of the dream.

What feedback I'm looking for

We welcome all to join our community on Discord. Whether you're someone who just started remembering their dreams, a lifelong lucid dreamer, a dream researcher, or someone who works with dreams in your professional practice, come share your dreams, report bugs, or suggest new features for the app. We're a small team and we read everything. The feedback and suggestions of our community genuinely shapes what we choose to create next.

Elsewhere Atlas launched August 2026

The app now includes the Elsewhere Atlas, a global map of dreams and dream statistics that charts the collective unconscious. Check out the public atlas (elsewhere.to/atlas) even without signing up for an Elsewhere account. Updated daily.

I like the approach of providing multiple lenses of dream interpretation (e.g., Jung, Freud, etc.) to help a dreamer make sense of their dreams with their unique context. The Elsewhere Atlas also seems like a nice way to build community and potentially gain new insights into the collective unconscious.
