Muse Launches EEG-Guided Smart Wakeup — Completes Sleep Platform, Previews Dream Retention and Hypnopompic Audio
Muse (InteraXon) announced Smart Wakeup, completing its 'Sleep, by Design' consumer EEG platform. The feature reads real-time brainwave data to detect lighter sleep stages and triggers a gradual audio alarm within a user-set window, reducing sleep inertia. Built on analysis of approximately 6,200 nights from 1,300 users. Compatible with Muse S Gen 1/2 and Muse S Athena; requires Muse Premium. Available April 15. Announced future features include Dream Retention Mode and Hypnopompic Audio — tools directly targeting the hypnopompic window (transitional state between sleep and waking) that is of significant interest to lucid dreaming and contemplative practice research. Announcement date April 7 is two days after the target week's close; included as a boundary signal.
