Headspace cuts staff two weeks after Sword Health closed its acquisition
Headspace issued layoffs on 16 October, a fortnight after Sword Health closed its roughly $300 million acquisition of the meditation company. The deal would have added 579 Headspace employees nationwide, bringing the combined US workforce to 1,203 before layoffs, and Sword said it anticipated reducing corporate staff to create efficiencies where redundancies exist between the two organisations. Cuts reached director and senior level and the C-suite was retained. The size of the reduction was not disclosed and neither company commented, as reported by Behavioral Health Business.
