Nature Profiles Fireside Project's Lucy AI Platform for Psychedelic Therapy Training
Nature published a profile (d41586-026-01467-y, May 21, 2026) of Lucy, an AI-powered voice-based role-play simulator for psychedelic practitioner training developed by Fireside Project. Created by cognitive scientist Felix Schoeller and Fireside founder Joshua White, Lucy draws on a dataset of over 7,000 anonymized support conversations (25,419 total peer support interactions by 220 trained volunteers, 2021-2026). Lucy was announced via PRWeb in December 2025 and profiled by Psychedelics Today on January 22, 2026. Fireside is collaborating with Dr. Yehuda's lab on an MDMA-manual-based educational course with Lucy integrated into each module.
