The Center for Consciousness Science at the University of Michigan conducts multidisciplinary research, education, and clinical care related to consciousness using multimodal neuroimaging and neurophysiology. Directed by George A. Mashour, MD, PhD, it has substantial NIH funding and explores consciousness during anesthesia, sleep, pain, and altered states.
